RideNest ("we", "our", "us") provides a school transport management platform used by drivers, school administrators, and guardians to manage routes, pickups, drops, invoicing, and payments. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

By using the RideNest app or website, you agree to the terms of this policy.

1. Information We Collect

a. Information provided by you

• Account information: Name, phone number, email address, and login credentials for drivers, school administrators, and guardians.
• Student information: Name, pickup/drop location, and route assignment (provided by drivers or school admins).
• Vehicle information: Vehicle number and driver details (for drivers).
• Payment information: UPI ID and transaction details required to process fee collection. We do not store your UPI PIN or full banking credentials.

b. Information collected automatically

• Location data: Approximate or precise location is collected during active trips to track pickup and drop status for routes.
• Device and usage data: Device type, app version, and session identifiers (used to enforce secure single-device login).
• Communication data: Delivery status of WhatsApp notifications (e.g. pickup/drop alerts, invoice reminders) sent through our messaging partner.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Operate and maintain route, pickup, and drop tracking
• Generate and deliver invoices and payment reminders
• Send WhatsApp notifications to guardians regarding pickup, drop, and payment status
• Enable secure login and session management
• Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
• Improve app performance and reliability

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Sharing of Information

We share information only as necessary to operate the service:

• With schools: School administrators can view driver and route information linked to their school.
• With drivers: Drivers can view guardian and student information relevant to their assigned routes.
• With service providers: We use trusted third-party providers strictly to deliver core functionality, including WhatsApp Business messaging providers, cloud hosting providers, and payment processing providers.

These providers are only given the minimum data necessary to perform their function and are not permitted to use it for other purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) between the app and our servers. Access to sensitive data is restricted to authorized personnel only.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us (see Section 8).

6. Your Choices and Rights

You may:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and data, subject to legal or operational retention requirements
• Opt out of non-essential WhatsApp notifications (core pickup/drop/payment alerts may still be sent as part of core functionality)

7. Children's Information

RideNest is intended for use by adults — drivers, school administrators, and guardians. While student information (such as name and pickup location) may be entered by drivers or schools for route management purposes, RideNest is not directed at children, and children do not directly use or interact with the app.
